What did Jody Jedele do before becoming a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
In 1989, Jody Jedele began a special service for Jehovah. By becoming more involved in the preaching work that Jesus Christ prophesied for our day (Matthew 24:14). This special service is called full-time service among Jehovah’s Witnesses.
In 1990, he moved to another special service among Jehovah’s Witnesses, called Bethel service.
Before becoming a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jody Jedele served as an Helper of the Governing Body’s Service Committee.
Jody Jedele is married.
Jody Jedele has a heavenly hope
One of the reasons why Jody Jedele became a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses has to do with his hope for a life in heaven. Because all those who belong to the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses have a heavenly hope. What does that mean?
In God’s Word, the Bible, we find two different hopes for the future
Before Jesus Christ came to earth, people who served Jehovah God faithfully could have the hope of one day being able to live on earth again. In the Bible, before the time of Jesus, we find only this hope for a future. To be resurrected one day. To live here on earth.
But since the death of Jesus Christ, it exists another hope for a future life. Since the death of Jesus Christ we can find in the Bible, God’s Word also the hope of a life in heaven.
In the Bible we learn that only a very limited number of people are chosen by Jehovah God to live in heaven. Only 144,000 people. In the Bible book of Revelation we also learn that these chosen people will have a special task in heaven. In the future they will rule as kings over the earth. They will be able to do this together with Jesus Christ. Because Jesus Christ is the one who was primarily chosen by Jehovah God to rule as king for God’s kingdom.
However, a total of 144,000 people have also been chosen to carry out this task together with Jesus Christ in the future. Jody Jedele is one of those who have been chosen by Jehovah God to do this.
Therefore, it is fitting that all members of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses have this heavenly hope.
