What is Faith?
What is faith?
What can faith do for us?
How can we build our faith?
What is Faith?
According to the Bible, God’s word, “Faith is the assured expectation of what is hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities that are not seen. “ (Hebrews 11:1)
Faith is something produced by the Holy Spirit from Jehovah God. God’s active force.
Faith is also part of the fruitage of God’s Holy Spirit. This means, if we have God’s Holy Spirit, we will have faith.
Faith is the conviction, that we will have the things we hoped for.
Faith is the assured expectation of what is hoped for
This does mean, that we have the conviction, that we will have the things we hope for.
Faith makes future things promised by God so real, that we firmly believe, that everything Jehovah said, will come true.
Faith is also the evident demonstration of realities that are not seen
What does this mean?
If we have a cell phone, we can call people from all over the world. But there are no wires. So we realize, that radio waves are real. Despite the fact, we don’t can see radio waves.
What helps to build true faith?
True Faith comes from a careful analysis. From an accurate knowledge. In the Bible we learn about God, about his name, about his promises which already came true. And the exciting promises for our future. Faith is also built and established by something else. And this is creation. If we see the night sky. Or if we see the complexity of the human eye. We can realize, that there must be a creator. This is a strong evidence.
We need real Faith to please God well
Faith is also essential to please God well. In the Bible we can read (Hebrews 11:6) Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please God well, for whoever approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.
What faith is not
Faith is not only to believe, that God exist. Because even the demons have faith, that God exists. But Satan, the devil, and the demons don’t exercise real faith.
Real Faith means to trust Almighty God Jehovah. And to form an unbreakable friendship with Jehovah God.
And Faith is not simply hoping for something.
The Bible explains about Abraham, a faithful man, who was also a friend of Jehovah God: (Romans 4:20) But because of the promise of God, he did not waver in a lack of faith; but he became powerful by his faith, giving God glory
Faith involves a certain expectation of God’s promised blessings
In God’s word, the Bible, we can read about faith:
“Moreover, without faith it is impossible to please God well, for whoever approaches God must believe that he is and that he becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him.” (The Bible, Hebrews 11:6) Faith is not complete, unless we are firmly convinced, that our creator Jehovah God will reward those who earnestly seek him.
How Faith becomes stronger
Faith becomes stronger, the more we love Jehovah God. Not only faith that God exists. But that God becomes the rewarder of those earnestly seeking him. Because becoming a rewarder is an integral part of Jehovah God. And of what Jehovah does.
Faith can help us to face the challenges in our life
Today we face many challenges in life. Real Faith can make us more powerful than our challenges. Real Faith can help us to cope with even difficult problems. Challenges or problems, which we cannot solve by ourselves. Because with real faith Jehovah God (Almighty God Jehovah) can become our mighty helper. Read for example the following Bible Scriptures.
Matthew 17:20; 21:21, 22; Luke 17:5, 6; Mark 11:23
(Matthew 17:20) He said to them: “Because of your little faith. For truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard grain, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
(Matthew 21:21, 22) In answer Jesus said to them: “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only will you do what I did to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. 22 And all the things you ask in prayer, having faith, you will receive.”
(Luke 17:5, 6) Now the apostles said to the Lord: “Give us more faith.” 6 Then the Lord said: “If you had faith the size of a mustard grain, you would say to this black mulberry tree, ‘Be uprooted and planted in the sea!’ and it would obey you.
(Mark 11:23) Truly I say to you that whoever tells this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but has faith that what he says is going to happen, he will have it happen.
